Gidde Palema
Sire Alf Palema is awarded Elite stallion. Granddams Highland Bridget and Haha Arden are awarded Elite mares. Sire of dam Ideal du Gazeau won the Elitlopp twice. There are more to Gidde Palema than the victory this Sunday that is "Elite". Ideal du Gazeau was however far from an Elite stallion at stud and Gidde Palema's dam Rosie Palema seem to have inherited unwanted characteristics from him. Rosie Palema did not make it on the track and her five foals besides Gidde has totally won one single race and earned 25,615 SEK. That is not impressive. Read this message by Jan Wallgren who trained Gidde Palemas half brother Morgan Palema (this comment is in Swedish, but it roughly says that Morgan Palema was bad-gaited and bad-tempered but had at lot in him, characteristics which run in the family, translator's note). Second dam Haha Arden produced two Stochampionat-winners (the most important race for 4yo mares in Sweden): Kristina Palema and Emilie Palema. Haha Arden is half sister to Hambetonian winner Flirth and to Galie's Mirthful, dam of Derby winner Thomas R.N.. Their common dam Mirthful was full sister to famous brothers Speedster, Speedy Rodney and Speed. This family has also produced trotters as Igor Brick, Madison Avenue, Wholly Arnie, Dance Spell (1:56.3 $427,050), Crystal Lens (1:58.1 $366,691), Crysta's Crown , Crysta's Best, Arsenal, Dance Marathon ( 1:56.1 $355,866), Top Guard and Steel Guitar. Gidde Palema is a result of a Speedy Somolli-son crossed with french blood, a recipe which has been tremendously successful over the last years. Apart from Gidde Palema, one can mention Hilda Zonett and a certain Varenne. Comments Reply to this post You must log in before you can submit messagesRegister. |
